A button for every job you do every day
Customer support, team meeting, development on the same project: recurring work is the work people forget to log, because choosing client, project and activity every time is a chore. Time Deck turns it into coloured buttons: press and the timer starts with everything filled in, press again and it stops.
Choices made once, not every morning
A button is created in two steps: what it does — the project and, if needed, sub-project, activity and a pre-filled description — and how it looks: label, colour, icon. Everyone has their own board, up to 18 buttons, in manual, alphabetical or most-used order; a button can also be made from an existing time entry, with “Add to Time Deck”. Next to personal buttons appear company ones: whoever administers Klokka defines them and assigns them to people or groups, and those who receive them cannot change them. Using Time Deck is a user type privilege, and in Preferences it can be chosen as the page Klokka opens on.
How it works

Create the buttons
“Add button”: choose project and activity, then name, colour and icon.

Press to start
One tap starts the timer with everything filled in; the running button stands out, and a second tap stops it. A recording that is too short is discarded.

Put them in order
In edit mode buttons are dragged by their handle; or they can be sorted alphabetically or by most used.
Work that repeats should not ask for three choices every time.
What you can do

Company buttons
Defined once by whoever administers, assigned to users and groups: they appear on their own on the board of those concerned, marked “Company”, and cannot be changed.

They follow groups
A button assigned to a group applies to whoever is in it at that moment: those who join find it, those who leave no longer see it.

Most used first
Klokka counts how often you press each button: the “Most used” order puts the everyday ones on top.

From time entries
“Add to Time Deck” on an existing time entry creates the button with the same data.

The same timer as ever
The button does not create a separate count: it starts the normal timer, and the hours end up in the same time entries and reports.
Frequently asked questions
Who can use it?
Whoever has the Time Deck privilege in their user type. Company buttons are managed only by those who administer Klokka’s settings. Without the extension the section is not there and the timer is started the normal way.
Can I remove a company button I do not need?
No: it is assigned by the administrator and cannot be changed from your own board. If a person or group no longer needs it, the administrator removes the assignment.
How many buttons can I have?
Up to 18 personal ones, plus the company ones assigned to you.
