Finding things Coming soon
The answer already exists: you just need to find it
A wiki earns its place when it answers before a colleague does. kWiki searches titles and text in every space you can read, and links pages together, so one answer leads to the next.
Before asking, you search
At Studio Morelli a new colleague needs to archive a case file and doesn’t know how. They type “file archiving” into Search and find the procedure, with the name of its space beside it. From there a link leads to the page on retention periods, and at the bottom of that page they see which other pages cite it. When admin changes the periods, they know which pages to reread. Pages in a restricted space don’t appear: for those who can’t read them, it’s as if they didn’t exist.
How it works
-
Search in your own words
Type what you need into “Search the pages…”: kWiki looks through titles and text, ignoring capitals and accents.
-
Open the right page
Each result shows its space, so you can tell the admin procedure from the workshop one.
-
Follow the links
Within the text a link leads to another page, and under each page you find those linking to it.
A page nobody can find might as well not exist.
What you can do
-
All spaces together
Search crosses every space you can read, without having to remember where a page lives.
-
In the text, not just titles
The sentence you remember may be halfway down a page: kWiki finds it anyway.
-
Links to a page
From the editor you look up the page and link it: no addresses to copy, and the link holds even if the page moves.
-
What links here
Under each page is the list of those citing it: before changing it, you know what you’re touching.
-
Restricted stays restricted
Search and “what links here” check permissions inside the query: not even a title or a count leaves a restricted space.
-
Live pages only
Pages in the trash don’t show up in search: nobody looking for a procedure lands on a discarded one.
Frequently asked questions
Does search show pages I can’t read?
No. The filter is inside the search itself: pages in a space you can’t read don’t appear, and you can’t tell they exist.
If I move or rename a page, do links break?
No: the link points to the page itself, not to its address or title.
Can I search just one space?
The Search page covers every space you can read, and each result says which space it’s in, so you can pick what you need.
Does search use artificial intelligence?
No. It’s a full-text search of the wiki’s content: it finds the words you type, on Kamzan’s servers.
The other kWiki features
Want to see it with your procedures?
We show you kWiki with a test space: how a procedure is written, how it links to files and projects and who can read it. Half an hour, no strings attached.
