In person

The client is at the counter: they sign right there, nothing printed

A tablet, a PC or a kiosk becomes a signing station. You send the document, the client reads it, confirms their identity with an SMS code or the Italian eID (CIE) and signs. The signed copy reaches them by email, and the station is ready for the next person.

A printer is not a signing process

At the agency, the front desk, reception: when the client is there, the reflex is to print, have them sign in pen, scan and file. Four steps, a sheet that can get lost and no record of who confirmed what, and when. The signing station keeps the speed of a sheet on the counter, with the same evidence as a signature sent by link: verified identity, event log, certificate.

How it works

  1. Connect the station

Give the station a name and choose what device it is: tablet, phone, laptop, computer or kiosk. On the device you open its link, or scan the QR code with the camera: it waits with your company’s logo and colours. No codes to type.

  2. Send it the document

In “In-person signing” you see which stations are connected and free. You pick one, start from a template or upload a PDF, add who signs: the document appears on screen within seconds, with no invitation email.

  3. The client signs

They check their details, fill in the fields, confirm their identity with the SMS code or the CIE and sign. If several people sign, the station moves on to the next one; each of them receives the signed copy at the email address they gave.

The speed of paper on the counter, without the paper.

What you can do

  • Any screen

The tablet on the counter, the PC at the front desk, the Mac at reception, a phone, the kiosk at the entrance: the station is a web page, with no app to install. Each card shows a drawing of the device, so you recognise it instantly.

  • Status at a glance

Connected and free, connected and in use, not connected: before sending a document you know whether anyone will see it. Each station also shows when its last signature was collected.

  • Same evidence as signing by link

A code by SMS to the client’s mobile, or the Italian electronic identity card (CIE) for an advanced electronic signature: in person the same checks apply, with the same event log and the same signature certificate.

  • Several signers, one after the other

A contract with two account holders? They sign at the same station in the order you entered them, and the screen says whose turn it is: “Signer 2 of 3”.

  • No data left on screen

If the client walks away, after three minutes with nobody there the session resets: verified code, CIE check and entered data disappear, and whoever comes next starts over. At the station the server also refuses a code verified more than ten minutes earlier.

  • Everything under control from the office

The Stations, In progress and Completed tabs tell you where each document is. If the client changes their mind you cancel the request, and the station goes back to waiting on its own.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an app or a particular device?

No. Any device with an up-to-date browser works as a station: you open its link, or scan the QR code, and it waits for documents. The device type you choose only helps you recognise it in the list.

Is in-person signing worth as much as signing by email?

Yes, it is the same signature. With the SMS code it is a simple electronic signature (eIDAS art. 25, Italian Digital Administration Code art. 20); with the CIE it is an advanced electronic signature. Only the signer’s location changes.

Can the client refuse to sign at the station?

At the station there is no refuse button, and the system would not accept one: in front of a shared screen, a wrong tap must not close a file. If the client changes their mind they simply do not sign, and you cancel the request from the office.

What happens if the client leaves halfway?

After three minutes with nobody in front of it, the station starts over: the details they entered, the verified code and any CIE check are cancelled, and the document goes back to how you prepared it. Whoever comes next finds nothing of the previous client.

Who creates stations, and what if a tablet gets lost?

Stations are created and edited by whoever administers kSign. If a device is lost, you regenerate the link: the old one stops working immediately, and requests already sent to that station stay where they are.
