Social media calendar template in Excel: free to download
The month’s content plan in one table: date, channel, series, format, topic, copy, owner and status of every post. In Excel to fill in or PDF to print, free and with no sign-up.
What the social media calendar contains
Enter the month and year and the sheet fills in every day by itself, with the day of the week. Each row is a post, with channel, series, format, topic, copy, owner and notes. Status is chosen from a list, from Idea to Published, and changes colour, so you see at once what is missing. The PDF is the blank version, handy in meetings.
How it works
-
Choose the month
Enter the month and year in the yellow cells: the dates update by themselves.
-
Fill in the plan
For each post, enter the channel, series, format, topic and owner. If more than one post goes out on a day, insert a row.
-
Track the status
Update the status from the list: Idea, Draft, In review, Approved, Scheduled, Published.
Your social media month, in one table.
What you can do
-
The whole month in one table
Dates and weekdays fill in by themselves when you change the month.
-
Colour-coded statuses
Each post is coloured by its status, so you see what is stuck.
-
Ready for the team
Owner and notes stay next to the post, with no scattered messages.
When the spreadsheet is no longer enough
An Excel calendar works as long as only a few people use it. When the copy sits in one document, the client’s approval in a chat and the date in the publisher’s head, kSocial keeps everything on the post: channel, status, approval and calendar.
Frequently asked questions
Is the template really free?
Yes. You download it without signing up or leaving your email, and you can use and edit it however you like.
What is the difference between a content plan and a content calendar?
The plan sets goals, audience, channels and themes. The calendar puts that content on specific dates, with who does what.
Does the template publish the posts?
No, it is a planning sheet: posts are published from their own channels.
