Kalendo extension
What time is the call? You see it without leaving your email.
In the middle of a document or an email, the question is always the same: do I have anything before lunch? With this extension the answer sits in the widget group of every Kamzan app: a Kalendo card with today’s appointments, to glance at and close again.
Looking, not managing
Opening the calendar to check a time means switching tabs, waiting, and often losing your train of thought. The “Today’s agenda” card skips the detour: it sits in the widget group of kMail, Klokka, Notika and the other Kamzan apps, and shows today’s appointments, up to four, starting from the next one. Past ones move to the back, all-day ones are marked as such, the one about to start is highlighted. For each you see the time, the title, the location and, when useful, which calendar it comes from: the company calendar has its own symbol, calendars shared with you carry the name of whoever shared them. It is read-only: it shows what you would see opening Kalendo, nothing more. To create or edit, the arrow at the top opens Kalendo. Inside Kalendo the card is not there: you already have the calendar in front of you.
How it works
-
Open the widget group
From the widget button, in any Kamzan app other than Kalendo. The Kalendo card is among the first, because it answers “what is coming up”.
-
Choose the calendars
The first time, the card asks which calendars to show: yours, those shared with you, the company one. The choice sticks, and you change it from the settings icon.
-
Take a look and get back to work
Time, title, location, the next one highlighted. If you need to change something, the arrow opens Kalendo; otherwise close it and you are where you were.
One glance, and you are back to what you were doing.
What you can do
-
The next one, first of all
Past appointments do not vanish but move to the back, and the one starting within a quarter of an hour is marked as “now”.
-
Where each commitment comes from
The company calendar has its own symbol, shared ones the name of whoever shares them: you do not mistake a colleague’s commitment for your own.
-
You choose the calendars
If you need a colleague’s calendar in Kalendo but not here, you remove it from the card. The choice applies in every app.
-
Read-only, only what you can see
The card writes nothing and does not widen permissions: it shows the same appointments you see in Kalendo, not one more.
-
Everyone decides whether to keep it
The company offers it by turning on the extension, already active by default; each person can switch it off from their own Preferences, under quick widgets.
Frequently asked questions
Can I create or move an appointment from the card?
No, on purpose: the card is for looking. To create or edit, the arrow at the top opens Kalendo.
What is needed for the card to appear?
The widget group active for the company, Kalendo active and this extension on — it already is, unless the administrator turned it off. Then the card appears, unless you turned it off in your Preferences.
Why can’t I see it inside Kalendo?
Because there you already have the calendar in front of you: the card is for the other apps, where you would otherwise have to change page.
