Kamzan ecosystem

The calendar the other apps already know

A meeting set in Kalendo is logged in Klokka with one click, a video call created in kMeeting shows up in the agenda, leave requested in Klokka blocks the right day. Nobody has to copy the same commitment from one app to another.

The same commitment, written once

In many companies the calendar lives in one place, hours in another and projects in yet another: at month end someone reconstructs by hand who was in a meeting with which client. Kalendo uses the same people and the same master data as the other Kamzan apps — clients, projects, activities — so an event carries what is needed by whoever reports, plans or invoices.

How it works

  1. Link the event to the work

From an event’s details you choose client, project, subproject and activity: these are the ecosystem’s shared master data, not labels on one calendar. If the event’s topic has a default activity, the activity sets itself.

  2. Klokka finds it in the agenda

Anyone who turns on calendar reading in Klokka finds meetings and appointments in their hours calendar. From there, logging starts with one click, already assigned where you decided on the event.

  3. The other apps keep track

Meetings created in kMeeting land on your default calendar, Klokka absences on the calendar you choose, and Projekta checks your appointments before proposing you for a task.

A commitment is written once, and the other apps read it.

What you can do

  • Reporting at the source

Client, project and activity are chosen on the event, while the information is fresh. In Klokka each person decides which calendars to share — the personal one can stay out — and whether to see only video calls or all appointments.

  • Topics with a default activity

A topic such as “Training” or “Client visit” can carry its reporting activity with it: pick it on the event and the assignment fills itself in. Klokka uses the same topics to decide what to show.

  • kMeeting video calls

From an event you add a kMeeting video call that takes the event’s title. And the other way round: meetings scheduled in kMeeting land on your default calendar by themselves.

  • Absences on the calendar

Holidays, leave and sick days requested in Klokka can appear on one of your Kalendo calendars: pending with “(TBC)”, final once approved.

  • Projekta knows when you’re busy

When Projekta works out free hours to assign a task, it counts Kalendo appointments. On confirmation, the work appointments go into the person’s “Projekta” calendar.

  • Notifications from every app

Kalendo’s notification centre also gathers those from the other Kamzan applications, with a filter to see only Kalendo, only the rest, or one specific app.

In depth

  • Today’s agenda in other apps

In the middle of a document or an email, the question is always the same: do I have anything before lunch? With this extension the answer sits in the widget group of every Kamzan app: a Kalendo card with today’s appointments, to glance at and close again.

  • Kalendo in Kamzan Desktop

Kamzan Desktop is Kamzan’s app for Windows and macOS. With this extension Kalendo comes into it in a version made for consulting: today’s commitments one click from the system tray, the calendar in the window, and your booking pages ready to send to a client while you write to them.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Klokka to use Kalendo?

No, Kalendo works on its own. The link to client, project and activity appears when the company also uses Klokka and the person has access to it; otherwise it stays hidden.

Can Klokka change my calendar?

No. It reads appointments from the calendars you choose and doesn’t touch them. The only thing it writes is absences, and only to one of your calendars and only if you turn the sync on yourself.

Can I see today’s appointments without opening Kalendo?

Yes, with two extensions that each have their own page. “Today’s agenda” adds a card with the day’s appointments to the widgets of every Kamzan app; Kamzan Desktop brings Kalendo into the native app for Windows and macOS: the calendar to consult and your booking page links to copy.
