Finding customers

Look first, then add it to your records.

The business cards collected at a trade fair, the request that came in from the website, the name a colleague passed you over the phone: if they all land in your records, six months later you no longer know who is a customer and who is an address that never replied. In Kore CRM leads sit in a separate queue. You work them, discard them with a reason, and only the real ones become company, contact and opportunity.

A queue to clear, not another list

The “Leads” page starts from the most recent and filters by status: New, Working, Qualified, Discarded. The button that matters, “Qualify”, sits on the row. To add a lead a single piece of information is enough, a name, an email or a company name: the rest is filled in as you work it. In the “Interest” section you note what they want and the estimated value, and on qualification these become the opportunity’s name and value. While it is a lead, nothing enters the pipeline: an opportunity is a forecast commitment, and filling it with requests nobody has assessed would turn the forecast into fiction. Every lead has an owner, by default whoever adds it, and anyone in Kore who cannot see all opportunities sees only the leads they own.

How it works

  1. Note the lead as it arrived

Person, company, request, handling: four sections, no single field mandatory. Pick the source, for instance word of mouth, website or trade fair, and the owner who will follow it up.

  2. Work it or discard it

The status moves from “New” to “Working”. If it is not a potential customer you mark it “Discarded” and write why: fake address, wrong market, already a customer. It leaves the queue but leaves a trace.

  3. Qualify it

With “Qualify” the lead enters your records: the company and the contact are created, and the opportunity too if you want. If someone similar is already in your records, you attach it instead of creating a duplicate.

Only what you have checked enters your records.

What you can do

  • You see the duplicate first

On the lead’s page, not at the end of qualification, a notice says something similar is already in your records and names the companies and contacts. The comparison ignores punctuation and legal form: “Rossi S.r.l.” and “Rossi SRL” are the same row.

  • Attach instead of creating

When qualifying you choose, for company and contact, between “Create” and “Attach to” an existing record. A contact already there but without a company receives the lead’s company; a company already chosen is never overwritten.

  • The opportunity is born already filled in

What the lead was asking for becomes the opportunity’s name, the estimate its value. You pick the stage or leave the first one: whoever typed that information during the call does not have to type it again.

  • The source follows the deal

The lead’s source carries over to the opportunity, and the lead date stays the day it arrived, not the day it was qualified. With the “Sales and forecast” extension you see which sources bring deals that close, and how long they take.

  • All or nothing, once only

Qualification creates company, contact and opportunity together, or none of them. Two quick clicks do not produce two companies. A qualified lead can no longer be edited, and the “Go to where it ended up” button takes you to the record it became.

  • Findable from search

The search box at the top, also reachable with Ctrl or Cmd+K, looks for leads alongside companies, contacts and opportunities, by first name, last name, email or company. A chip narrows it to leads only.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between discarding and deleting a lead?

Once discarded, the lead leaves the queue but stays with its reason: you know why you did not pursue it, and you find it again if it gets back in touch. Once deleted, it is gone completely. Kore reminds you of this in the confirmation window.

Do I have to create the opportunity as well?

No. “Also create the opportunity” is a checkbox: untick it and the lead becomes only company and contact. You open the opportunity later, when there really is a deal to forecast.

Who can see the leads?

Whoever in Kore can see all opportunities also sees all leads. Everyone else sees only the ones they own: a lead is an opportunity that does not have a name yet, and it has the same boundary.
