AI
Notes taken in a hurry, put in order. In your own words
Broken lines, no capitals, to-dos mixed in with everything else: “Tidy with AI” adds the punctuation, makes the list, creates the checklist or suggests a title. It adds nothing and doesn’t summarise. You first see the proposal next to the current text, and the note changes only if you press “Replace”.
A note shouldn’t be improved: it should be made readable
Left to itself, an AI model tends to “improve” notes: it finishes a half sentence, infers a date, invents someone’s surname. In a work notebook that isn’t help, it’s forgery: whoever rereads no longer knows which line they wrote. That’s why in Notika the AI works only on the form, with precise rules: it doesn’t add, remove, summarise or translate. The words stay yours.
How it works
-
Choose what to tidy
Press “Tidy with AI” to work on the whole note, or select a part and use the context menu: only that part changes, with no invented openings or closings.
-
Choose the action
“Tidy” for punctuation, capitals, broken lines and paragraphs. “Turn into a list” for lines that already are a list. “Turn into a checklist” for to-dos. “Give it a title” for a title made from the note’s own words.
-
You decide
The proposal appears next to the current text. “Replace” puts it into the note, “Leave as is” discards it. Even after replacing, a single undo brings everything back at once.
The AI puts things in order. The words stay yours.
What you can do
-
Doesn’t add, doesn’t summarise
No invented words, dates or names; no information removed. A sentence left half-finished stays half-finished: you complete it when you remember how it ended.
-
First the proposal, then the note
“Now” and “Proposal” side by side: you see what would change before it changes. Until you press “Replace”, the note stays exactly as it was.
-
The whole note or just a part
On long notes you select the paragraph to tidy and the rest is left alone. The title, instead, is proposed by looking at the whole note.
-
Images and mentions kept safe
Images and colleagues’ @mentions don’t go through the model: they stay in place, and none disappears from the note even if the model gets it wrong.
-
In the language you wrote in
The AI doesn’t translate: a note in English comes back in English, one in Italian stays in Italian. And bold text, links and boxes already ticked stay as you left them.
-
Your company chooses the model
From Kamzan’s AI settings your company picks the model: an external service such as Anthropic, OpenAI or DeepSeek, with its own key, or an internal model, with which the text goes to no external service.
-
Nothing is left along the way
Notika saves no copy of the text sent to the model or of the proposal: it goes, comes back and stops at the preview. Only what you accept goes into the note.
Frequently asked questions
Can the AI summarise a long note?
No, and that’s deliberate. “Tidy notes” reorders what is there: it doesn’t shorten, remove or add conclusions. On a very long note you select the part to tidy.
Does the text of my notes leave the company?
It depends on the model your company chose. With an external service, the text you ask to tidy goes to that service for the duration of the request; with an internal model it goes to no external service. Either way Notika keeps no copies, and the AI only works when you press the button.
What if I don’t like the proposal?
Press “Leave as is” and the note doesn’t change by a comma. If you already replaced it, one undo brings everything back at once, and the note’s versions are still there.
Why don’t I see the “Tidy with AI” button?
“Tidy notes” is an extension: it appears once your company has enabled it and picked a model in Kamzan’s AI settings. As long as either is missing, the button isn’t there.
