The first month is the one that decides
Time tracking is only truly adopted if comparison with last year is possible from day one. That is why import is not an accessory: it brings the history in from the sheets you were using, recognising existing clients and projects instead of duplicating them, and shows you the outcome before anything is written.
How it works

You upload the CSV and look at the preview
Klokka analyses the file, lists the entities it found and proposes matches with existing clients, projects and people. Nothing is written yet.

You fix the matches and confirm
Where the matching got it wrong, you fix it by hand. Only then is the import executed, and it stays in the history with everything it created.

You export when you need to
Hours come out as CSV or Excel in the format whoever receives them needs, and that format is saved as a template for next time.

Frequently asked questions
Which format can I import from?
From CSV, the format any spreadsheet and any management system can produce. The preview shows you how it was interpreted before anything is written.
Can I undo an import that went wrong?
Yes. Every import stays in the history and can be removed, so a wrong file leaves no mess to clean up by hand row by row.
Does the data stay mine if I stop using Klokka?
Yes. CSV and Excel export is always available and not restricted: the hours you logged come out in the format you want, when you want.
