Messages and groups

Work groups come back to the company, off everyone’s personal phone

Message a colleague, open a group for the client or the site, invite whoever you need with a link. You see who has read, who is typing and who is online, and the conversation stays in the company’s space.

The project’s WhatsApp group does not belong to the company

The client group starts on someone’s phone, people who changed jobs stay inside, and decisions live in a private app the company cannot see or close. kTalk brings the same habits — direct messages, groups, read ticks — into Kamzan: the people are your colleagues, access is governed by the administrator, and messages stay encrypted on the company’s servers.

How it works

  1. Message a colleague

You look the person up by name and write. Next to each one you see whether they are online. In “Saved messages” you keep notes, links and files just for yourself, and find them on all your devices.

  2. Open a group

Give the group a name, add a description and a photo if you like, then choose who joins. Whoever creates it is its administrator and can appoint other administrators and moderators.

  3. Invite with a link

You generate an invitation link that expires after 1, 7 or 30 days, or never, and revoke it whenever you want. It only works for colleagues in your company: a link forwarded by mistake lets no outsider in.

What you can do

  • Ticks that tell you where things stand

Each message goes from Sent to Delivered to Read. In groups you see where the team is: “Read by 4 of 7”.

  • Who is there and who is typing

Online or Offline next to the name, and “Paola is typing…” while the reply is on its way: you know whether to wait or move on.

  • Pin, mute, archive

Important conversations stay at the top. A noisy group can be muted for 8 hours, a week or until you turn it back on; a finished one goes to Archived.

  • A list you read at a glance

The All, Unread and Channels tabs filter the list; inside it, the Pinned, Channels, Groups, Direct messages, Files and folders and Archived sections keep everything in its place.

  • Clear roles in the group

Administrators manage members, name, photo and invitations, and appoint moderators. A group is never left without a lead: there must always be at least one administrator.

  • Groups as big as the company

By default a conversation holds up to 500 people: the department, the office, the whole firm. The kTalk administrator can raise or lower this ceiling.

Frequently asked questions

Are the chats encrypted?

Yes, always: messages are encrypted at rest with your company’s key. With the end-to-end encryption extension you can also open conversations that only the participants’ devices can read. The mode is chosen when the conversation is created and does not change afterwards.

How many people can a group have?

Up to 500 by default. The ceiling is set by the kTalk administrator in the anti-abuse limits and applies to groups and channels: it counts people, not their devices.

Who can create an invitation link, and what if it gets passed around?

A group administrator creates it. Each link shows how many people have joined and when it expires; if you no longer need it you revoke it, and from then on it lets nobody in. In any case it only works for people who already have a user in your company.

What are Saved messages for?

It is a chat with yourself: you forward the message you need to remember, leave a link or a file to pick up later on your computer. Only you see it, on all your devices.

How do I stop a group from interrupting me all day?

Mute it for 8 hours, a week or until you decide: messages still arrive, but without notifications, and the group stays marked as muted.
