You choose the model, the passage is ours

The assistant is OnlyOffice’s AI plugin connected to Files: its requests do not go to an external service chosen by the plugin, but through files-api, which routes them to the model the company has configured in Kamzan Account → Artificial intelligence, for the “assistant in the editor” entry. It can be a cloud model with the company’s key, or a self-hosted model for those who cannot let texts out. The person using the assistant must have the “Use AI” privilege in their user type. It generates text from an outline, translates, rewrites in a different tone, summarises and analyses: it works on the content in front of you, where you are.

How it works

  1. The company chooses the model

    Kamzan Account → Artificial intelligence → “Assistant in the editor”: provider, model, key. Once for all users.

  2. Ask in the document

    In the online editor, the AI panel: select text or type the request. Rewrite, summarise, translate, explain, generate.

  3. Accept or discard

    The proposal appears in the document and you keep or drop it. Saving is a version, as always.

The AI enters the document. The document does not leave Files.

  • Model per company

    Cloud with your key, or self-hosted on our servers: the choice is in the ecosystem’s AI settings, the same for all AI functions.

  • Goes through Files

    The plugin talks to files-api, not to an external service on its own: who opened the document, which company, which model — decided by us, not by the plugin.

  • “Use AI” privilege

    Per user type: Guests, as a rule, do not have it. The panel appears only to those who can use it.

  • With the Anonymiser

    To ask the AI about a document with personal data, open the anonymised twin: the question starts from a text without names.

Frequently asked questions

How is it different from the document chat?

The document chat queries the archive — “what do the 2025 contracts say about penalties” — and answers with sources. The assistant in the editor works on the text you are writing, inside the open document.

Do texts go to an external provider?

It depends on the model the company chose. With a self-hosted model they stay on Kamzan servers; with a cloud model they go to the provider, with the company’s key and contract. Files does not decide for you.

Do I need the Collaborative editor?

Yes: the assistant lives inside the OnlyOffice editor. Without the online editor there is no panel.
