Contact cards
The supplier’s number no longer lives on one person’s phone
People and companies each get their own card, with everything you need to find them and call them back: contact details, role, address, notes. When someone changes office or goes on holiday, the contacts stay with the company.
A complete contact, not just a name and a number
Giulia Morelli’s business card ends up in a drawer, her number in a chat, the firm’s address in an old email. Kontacts puts it all on one card: first and last name, company, job title and function, email, phone, website, full address, date of birth, notes. Categories — Clients, Suppliers, Partners — help you find whole groups in a moment, and the company is linked by picking it from the ones you already have, so “Studio Morelli” is always spelled the same way.
How it works
-
You create the contact
A person or a company: a name, an email or the company name is enough to save. The rest — phone, job title, address, notes — you add now or whenever you need it.
-
You link and tag it
With “Link company” you pick the company from those already in the address book, or type a new one. Categories autocomplete as you type: Clients, Suppliers, Accountant.
-
You find it on one card
One click on the contact opens the “Contact card”: at the top who they are and who they work for, then the General, Person and contacts, Details tabs. From there you edit it or copy it to another address book.
People change desks. The contacts stay.
What you can do
-
All the fields you actually need
First name, last name, nickname, company, job title, function, email, phone, website, address with city, region and country, date of birth, notes. No endless form: fill in only what you know.
-
The company always spelled the same
As you type “Rossi”, Kontacts suggests “Rossi & Partner” if it already exists. No more three spellings of the same client, and the by-organization view stays clean.
-
Categories as tags
A contact can be both Client and Partner. Categories are added with Enter or a comma, removed with Backspace and autocomplete from the ones already in use.
-
Several emails and numbers, none lost
If a contact comes from a phone or a vCard file with several emails and numbers, the original vCard is kept as it is. The list shows the one marked as preferred.
-
Recognisable at a glance
If there is a photo you see it; otherwise each contact gets its initials on a colour that never changes, so in a long list your eye finds people before you even read.
-
Copy to another address book
Need the accountant in the address book you share with the finance team too? From the card you copy it to any address book you can write to, without retyping it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I save a company without a contact person?
Yes. To save you only need one of first name, last name, email or company: the Ferrari Design switchboard with its main number is as valid a contact as any other.
Does the company have its own record with VAT number and address?
No: in Kontacts the company is the name you attach to contacts, used to group and find them. If you want to keep the company with its own number and address, save it as a company contact.
Can I add my own fields, like a customer code?
The fields are the standard vCard ones, so the contact reads the same on the phone and in other programs. For extra information there is the Notes field, which the AI search can also use.
If I edit a contact on my phone, does it change in Kontacts too?
Yes, if you have connected your phone via CardDAV: changes go both ways, from phone to Kontacts and from Kontacts to phone.
