Photos are meant to be looked at, not browsed by name

IMG_4021.jpg says nothing. The Gallery shows the archive’s images and videos as images: a cover per folder, the tree of site visits, trade fairs, products. You search “the site photo with the crane” and find it, even if nobody ever renamed it.

A view, not a separate archive

The Gallery duplicates nothing: it reads the same Files folders and shows only what you can already see, with the same permission check as the file browser — hidden and confidential folders included. Every folder has a cover; the tree is browsed by subfolders. With AI search on, images are described by a model on our servers and search understands words, not file names. You select photos and send them as a PDF: the recipient gets a link by email — or SMS — that expires after the days the administrator decides.

How it works

  1. Open the Gallery

    From the sidebar. Folders with images appear with their cover; you enter and see thumbnails and videos, with subfolders below.

  2. Search by content

    “Warehouse with solar panels”, “scanned March invoice”: AI search finds images by what they show. It is switched on in the extension settings.

  3. Select and send as PDF

    You click the photos, type the recipients, Files lays out a PDF and sends the link. The email text is already written and can be changed; the link expires on its own.

The right photo is found by describing it, not by remembering its name.

What you can do

  • Same permissions as the browser

    If you cannot see a folder in Files, you cannot see it in the Gallery. No shortcut through thumbnails.

  • Covers and tree

    Every folder shows its cover, and the cover of a whole branch is rebuilt when the images change.

  • AI search on our servers

    Image description runs on Kamzan infrastructure. Your photos are not sent to an external service to be understood.

  • PDF with expiry

    Links to PDFs generated by the Gallery expire after the days set by the administrator, and old PDFs clean themselves up.

  • Who sees it

    The Gallery is a section visible per user type: Guests, who see the simplified home, do not get it.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Gallery show videos too?

Yes, with preview and playback in the same view. A video with download blocked stays blocked here too.

Do vaulted images appear?

No: a vaulted file disappears from the Gallery and from searches, and its thumbnail is removed. That is part of the protection.

Can a PDF sent from the Gallery be resent?

Yes, by redoing the selection: every sending generates its own PDF and link, with its own expiry. Recipients end up in the address book as with other shares.
