Finding a file

To search for a file:

  1. Click the search box at the top, in the bar at the top of the page.
  2. Type part of the name and press Enter.
  3. If there are too many results, narrow them down with the type filters that appear under the bar, on the left: «Folders», «Documents», «Images», «Videos», «Audio» — and «Trash», to search among deleted things.

The other ways of getting back to things

In the left-hand menu, «Collections» opens a page with three tabs at the top that are worth more than a search:

  • «Recent» — the files you uploaded or changed lately. The quickest way back to this morning’s document.
  • «Favorites» — what you have marked. To mark a file or folder, click the star that appears on the row when you hover over it. Worth it for the two or three folders you open every day.
  • «Shared» — the folders someone else has made available to you.

If the search doesn’t find it

  • It may be in the bin. Search again with the «Trash» filter on.
  • It may not be yours. Search only looks where you have access: a file that is none of your business does not show up, and that is not an error.
  • It may have a different name from the one you remember. Try the client, the case or the folder instead of the document itself.
  • If you are looking for a phrase inside a document, searching by name is not enough: that is the smart search, which is a different thing and has its own page.
