Blurring or replacing the background

Next to the camera button there is a small arrow: on the preparation screen it is called «Video effects», in the room «Select camera». Opening it you find, under the list of cameras, the «Video effects» section.

For the blur, three entries: «No blur», «Light blur», «Heavy blur».

To replace the background, below there are the «Virtual backgrounds»: you click an image to set it («Click to remove» on the same one to take it off). You can add your own with «Upload your background» («Upload your own image (PNG / JPEG, max 5MB)»); on uploaded backgrounds «Adjust position» appears, to adjust the framing, and «Remove background». Backgrounds with the company logo are visible only if your user type has the «Sfondi virtuali aziendali» privilege.

The choice stays for the next meetings too.

Blur and background do not coexist

They are alternatives, and the menu says so when you try: «Turn off blur to set a virtual background» and «Turn off the virtual background to enable blur».

If it does not work

«Background blur isn’t available on this device: others see you without it.» It is not a fault and there is nothing to configure: that computer cannot process the video in real time. Better to know it before than after.

⚠️ In the preview you see yourself mirrored, and it is written underneath: «The preview is mirrored: other participants will see the background the right way round.»
