Taking notes during the meeting
In the command bar, between «Participants» and «Leave meeting», there is the «Personal note» button: it opens a panel on the right with a «Write your note…» field, and you write while you listen, without leaving the meeting. The button appears only if your organisation has enabled the notes extension.
⚠️ Only you read it. At the bottom of the panel it is written «It goes into your personal notebook: only you can read it.» — it is not a shared record, and no other participant sees it.
Where you find it afterwards
It depends on what is at the bottom of the panel:
- If your organisation has Notika and you can write in it, the note saves by itself — you see «Saving…» and then «Saved» — and ends up in your notebook, with the meeting reference at the top, so that a month later you know what it was about. At the bottom of the panel there is «Open in Notika», and when you leave the meeting you read «You left the meeting» with «Your note is safe in your Notika notebook.» and «Open my note».
- Otherwise the notes stay on this device: at the bottom you read
«They stay on this device: download them at the end, or have them emailed to you.» and the two buttons «Download» and «Email them to me»
(it goes to your account address, or the one typed when entering as a
guest; after sending you read «Sent to
» ). If you close the page without doing either, you lose them.
Two things to know
- While you share the screen the panel does not open, and the button says so: «Not while you are sharing your screen» — it would show everyone what you are writing.
- If at the bottom of the panel you read «Session expired: your notes are safe here — resume to save them.», do not close the page: use «Resume session» and the text gets saved.
