Sharing the screen
«Share screen» in the bottom command bar, right after the camera: the browser asks what to show (a window, a tab or the whole screen). To stop, the same button becomes «Stop sharing». On the phone it lives in the «Other» sheet.
While someone shares, the sharing takes the centre and at the top you read
who «is sharing their screen»; next to it you find «Enter fullscreen» and «Hide participants». If more than one person shares, at
the top the arrows appear to move from one to the other
(«
If instead of the button there is a request
It depends on how the meeting was created. If in the «Options» step the
«Anyone can share without requesting» switch was off («Only organizer and co-hosts can share; others must request permission.»), instead of «Share screen» you have «Request screen share»: you press it, read «Request sent», and the
organiser gets the «
The organiser can also grant it without waiting for the request: in the Participants panel, the «Enable screen sharing» icon next to the name.
If the button is not there at all, sharing is off for the whole meeting («Enable screen sharing» in the «Options» step).
If it stops on its own
«Screen sharing interrupted due to connection issues. Restart it when you’re ready.» — you did nothing wrong: the connection dropped, just start it again.
A video instead of the screen
Next to «Share screen» there is «Share YouTube video»: a small window opens with «Paste YouTube URL…», and everyone watches the video together, with clean audio — better than sharing a browser window. To stop it, «Stop YouTube video».
⚠️ Recordings capture the screen share, not the webcams. If you record without anyone sharing, the video stays black: see the page on recording.
