Having a form filled in online, and signed

Besides asking for a file the participant already has, you can have them fill in a form or sign a document without leaving the page. They’re two step types, chosen like the others: in the template’s «Structure» step, «Add step» and then the entry in the «Choose the type of step» menu.

Filling in online

With the Compilazione documenti online extension the menu has «Document fill-in» — «Upload a template document (PDF, Excel or Word). The participant fills it in directly in the browser.» In the step you upload the model and, if needed, remove it with «Remove template».

The participant finds the «Fill in online» button under the step; the other way — download, fill in and upload again — always stays open: it’s the «Upload the completed form» upload area next to it.

For PDFs, how they’re made matters. If the PDF has no real fields, as soon as you upload it in the step you read «No fillable field found in the PDF. The user will have to download the template, fill it in and upload it again.» — it’s not an error, it’s the model that needs redoing if you want on-screen filling.

Having it signed

With the Firma elettronica kSign extension the menu has «Electronic signature» — «The participant signs a PDF document via kSign.» In the step you press «Upload the PDF to be signed».

The participant reads «This document requires your electronic signature.» and presses «Sign document»: kSign’s signing opens, and on return «The electronic signature has been applied successfully.» If they refuse, «The signature was refused.»

⚠️ In the template’s «Preview» the button doesn’t work, and it’s written: «In preview the signature button is not active.» You need a real collection.

This extension requires the kSign product active for the company: without kSign the entry doesn’t even appear in the menu.

If the two entries don’t appear

They’re extensions, not privileges: they’re switched on for the whole company. Ask whoever administers Kamzan.
