Who uses kMeeting and what they can do

«User management» is an entry of the «Control centre» (the button at the bottom of the left menu) and only admins see it. It has two tabs at the top: «Users» — who uses kMeeting, each with their own type — and «User types» — what each type can do, that is its privileges.

⚠️ People are not born here

They are created in Kamzan Account: the account is one for all products. In the «Users» tab, «Add user» at the top right opens the path to give kMeeting to whoever already has an account. From kMeeting you decide what they do inside kMeeting, not whether the person exists.

What is switched on and off

In the «User types» tab, each type has the list of privileges with a switch each. Joining the meetings you are invited to cannot be taken away from anyone. What is decided instead:

  • «Creazione meeting» — the «New meeting» button.
  • «Modalita’ webinar» — the second entry of the «Mode» dropdown.
  • «Registrazione meeting» — «Start REC» in the room and the «Recordings» page.
  • «Trascrizione e riassunto AI» — «Genera trascrizione» on recordings.
  • «Sfondi virtuali aziendali» — the backgrounds uploaded by the company among the «Video effects».
  • «Crittografia end-to-end (E2EE)» — the switch at creation.
  • «Calendario aziendale condiviso» — the «Mark me as busy on the company calendar» box.

⚠️ Two of these do not depend on the person alone: end-to-end encryption and recording are extensions, and if the company has not enabled them they appear to nobody, whatever privileges are given. The company calendar requires Kalendo with the calendar created.

Two blocks you will see

  • Your own account is not edited from here: it is managed from Kamzan Account.
  • At least one active admin must remain: the last one cannot be suspended or removed.

When a colleague cannot do something

Before looking for a fault, look here: almost always the button is not there because the privilege of their type is off.

Taking access away

On the user’s row, the «Suspend» and «Remove» icons. Removing a person from kMeeting does not delete their Kamzan account: it takes this product away from them. The meetings they created remain.
