Notika guide
The first screen of Notika
Notika is split in three: the menu on the left, the list of notes in the middle and the open note on the right. Until you open one, on the right you read «Pick a note, or create a new one.».
The top bar
- In the middle the «Search notes…» field.
- On the right the blue «New» button: one click and an empty note is born, already open on the right with the cursor on the title. The little arrow next to it («More options») opens the choice between «New note», «New voice note» (if voice notes are on) and «Import from file».
- Further right, the two small «View» buttons: «List view» (one row per note) and «Grid view» (cards).
The items of the left-hand menu
- «All notes» — what you have written.
- «Favourites» — the ones marked with the star.
- «Shared with me» — the notes others have given you.
- «Voice notes» — the notes with a recording inside (only there if voice notes are on).
- «Folders», with the + next to it to create one; below, if you have saved any, «Smart folders».
- «Trash».
- At the bottom, «Control centre»: settings, labels, preferences, user management.
The list
Notes are grouped by when you last touched them: «Today», «Yesterday», «Last 7 days», «Last 30 days». The ones you always need are set «Pinned» and stay at the top, under the «Pinned» heading. Above the list, the labels you chose to keep at the top appear as quick filters (see the page on labels).
Working on several notes at once
In the list, Shift+click takes a range of notes, Cmd/Ctrl+click adds
one at a time (Cmd/Ctrl+A all of them, Esc cancels). At the top of
the list the «
